Finding Peace? Here's how you can have a peaceful day in 'THE CITY OF FOODIES': Indore!

Indore, The city of foodies, also known as 'Mini Bombay', is the business capital of Madhya Pradesh. It is a historical city from the age of The Holkars. It is considered to be the educational hub of central India, featuring both IIM(Indian Institute of Management) and IIT(Indian Institute of Technology), the only city in India to have both the campuses within its boundary.
It is the most populous and amongst the busiest cities of central India.
By the reading the title you might be confused like how can a busy city be a peaceful destination for you?
This post will serve as a guide for you as to how you can spend an amazing day in Indore.

Indore, within its boundaries, has a lot of beautiful places where you can spend a peaceful time with your friends, family or your companion.

Places to be at:

Tincha Waterfall

Situated around 25 kms from the city is this beautiful picnic spot, a paradise for photographers and nature lovers. You can spend few hours here away from the busy life of the city. A good place to be with your family, friends or your companion. Don't forget to take an extra pair of clothes, you can actually enjoy taking a dive into the river!

There are several seasonal waterfalls around Indore which come to life during the monsoon months. With an average height of around 200-400 feet, these waterfalls can be reached by a short hike of a few kilometres from the roads. With increasing local tourism, people tend to be around these gems to have a peaceful time.

    July to September would be the best time to be in Indore when there are good rains, you can actually enjoy the beauty of nature and have a peaceful evening.

    Food:

    Apart from these beautiful destinations, Indore is basically known for the foodies. Here's a list of places to count on!

    • Chappan Dukan: Located in the centre of Indore, it is a street which has different food outlets, you can try anything starting from desi delicacies to continental food!
    • Sarafa: Actually a spot for the jewellers, Sarafa turns into a food hub at night, it has around 250 shops with different Indian preparations, you can see a variety of desserts starting from Gulab Jamun to Rabdi, which are worth trying.                                                      



                                                         
    • Cafe Terazza: A rooftop restaurant located on AB Road, has a very wide range of preparations, which has a very good taste. I love the place for its ambience.

    • Tinku's: A food joint under the Tinku's, is a cafe with branches at different locations in Indore. Cold coffee with brownie and cheese baked samosa are worth a try. Can be found at Vijaynagar, Race Course Road and Bhawarkuan.

    • CCH(Central Coffee House): A paradise for cold coffee lovers and the ones who love nights, you can try different varieties of coffee here, coffee with caramel is a must try(actually it is the most basic one, but I liked it). Can be found near GPO.

      After a break of 5 years, I'm back with a beautiful and reminiscing trip to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi, Katra. It was a long, throned wish to visit the temple, which finally got fulfilled after a wait of 17 years. As the name suggests, Vaishnodevi is a pilgrimage spot in the Trikuta Mountains of Jammu and Kashmir, which is amongst the toughest trek pilgrims undertake at 5,200 feet after an arduous journey of 14 kms. Vaishnodevi is one of the incarnations of Goddess Lakshmi. It is one of the most visited pilgrimage spots in India. So this was a family trip starting  from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, through Malwa Express, a direct train departing at 12:15 PM to Katra, taking approximately 30 hours to reach the destination. We saw scenic landscapes throughout the journey as we crossed 5 states, MP, UP, Delhi, Haryana and Punjab, to finally arrive in Jammu and Kashmir.     Living the dream, in the City of Dreams: Mumbai!

    19th June 2017 Mumbai, a city which is a paradise for every traveller, despite his/her nationality. It was the same for me, it started back in 2008, the wish to travel, travel  Mumbai: The Taj Mahal Palace, Nariman Point, CST(Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, previously known as Victoria Terminus). After a wait of 9 long years, finally, I was going to make it to Mumbai, this June.     Soulful weekend getaway at Sanchi!

      Elated by the response I received on my previous blog, I'm back with yet another exciting and short travel story of  Sanchi, Madhya Pradesh. Sanchi is famous for the world heritage site, The Sanchi Stupa, 40 kms from Bhopal.  So, Sanchi is just an hour's drive from Bhopal and is among my go-to places on weekends. You can visit there with your friends and family for a peaceful time as the surrounding is serene. Moreover, it's an excellent place for planning a picnic as there is ample garden space to sit and have your favourite meal. Sanchi can also be reached by train as it has its own railway station and excellent connectivity with primary locations in the country. We left for Sanchi around 2:00 PM and reached there by 3:30 PM. We visited the whole premises and sat there to witness the sunset.
